Batwoman was in the Arrowverse this season.  Batwoman was Kate Kane. There are actually two Batwoman, Kathy Kane and Kate Kane. Kathy was the original Batwoman.

For this blog, I will be talking about Kate Kane. She first appeared in 52 #7 (June 2006). She was in costume cameo appearance the next issue 52 #9 (July 2006). Her first full appearance in her costume is #52 #11 (September 2006).

Ruby Rose played the character of Batwoman.  Picture on the left is a courtesy from allure.com. WB got this right because they have lesbian actress playing a lesbian character. Just imagine the backlash  WB will get if they have a non-lesbian actress playing that role. Ruby is famous for her role in Netflix series Orange is the New Black and  action movies Resident Evil: Final Chapter (2016) and John Wick 2 (2017).

Now we have our another look of Batwoman. Picture is a courtesy from Entertainment Weekly.

Kate has a rough childhood. She was kidnapped with her sister and mother. Her father led a rescue mission. However, her mom was executed and her sister died in a crossfire. She attended a military school but got kicked out because of her lifestyle. Her father sent her to college but she doesn’t go. One night she got mugged but with her military training, she was able to fend off the mugger until Batman arrived. Inspired by this, she became Batwoman.

Batwoman was introduced to the Arrowverse and now Batwoman will  have her own TV show just like how Flash was introduce first in Arrow show and then having his own show. I am looking forward to her TV series.

From WB” “Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane [Rose] soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”
