Spike Lee said no to Nightwatch

Marvel has Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony has their own version called the Sony’s Marvel Universe. Their first movie will be Venom (check out my earlier blogs) out October 2018. Their next movie will be Morbius  (check out my earlier blogs), production will start later this year. Some other movies in development are Silver & Black and Nightwatch.  This blog will talk about Nightwatch.
Out of all the characters in spiderman universe, Nightwatch is a surprise to me to be picked for a movie. In March 2018, Spike Lee was in talks to direct this movie. Now we heard that he is not directing Nightwatch. With the success of Venom, Sony don’t want to pass up on another Spider-man’s character. We will hear some news on who might be directing soon.
Nightwatch first appeared Web of Spiderman #99 (April 1993) published by Marvel Comics created Terry Kavanagh, Alex Saviuk, and Joe Rubinstei. The character, Dr. Kevin Trench, first appeared in Web of Spider-man #97 (February 1993).
Kevin Trench witnessed a costumed crime fighter dying while batting the bad guys with cloaking devices. As he approached him, he unmasked him. Kevin saw a future him inside the costume. He thought to himself, if he never wore that costume, he wouldn’t die. However, curiosity led him to pursue about the costume. His costume enhanced his strength, agility, and reflexes. His costume allows him to be invisible.
A copy of Web of Spiderman #99 CGC 9.6 sold for $95 back in July. This might be the book to get now before production starts. There was no recent sale of Web of Spiderman #99 CGC 9.6 but there is a sale of Web of Spiderman #99 CGC 9.8 for $175 plus shipping on September 22.
