Pokémon Go grossed $84.8 million in September.

img_4189Pokémon Go game is still going strong because Niantic has an excellent September by grossing almost $85 million. This was first reported by Sensor Tower. The game has grossed $2.01 Billion worldwide since Pokémon Go debuted in July 2016.

What contributed to the gross for the month of September? Niantic started out September with a bang with the Global Challenge on September 1 and 2. Also Japan has the Safari Zone that started August 29 and lasted till September 2. Wingull was available with a chance of being Shiny.

On Saturday September 8, most trainers came out to play with advantage of 5 raid passes to catch the legendary bird Moltres. Of course, a small chance Moltres could be a shiny too.  Just when you thought you seen Moltres for the last time on September 8. Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos came back for one more in raids from September 13 to 20.

What got a lot of trainers excited was Mewtew available in Raid Battle for the first time. Lot of people has to work, didn’t get an EX-pass and/or couldn’t get anyone to show at EX-pass event, were excited that they could get Mewtew for the first time.

Couple days later on September 22, Chikorita was the Pokémon for the month (ok, ok, just joking) by  being the Pokémon for Community Day.

There was one more surprise for September, Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Tauros  joinedthe Alolan Pokémon in 7 km Eggs from September 13 till the end of month.

Will so many exciting events in September, Niantic kept the trainers busy. That means more money for Niantic. Will October gross more than September?
