Margot Robbie who played Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad said in early July Birds of Prey will begin production in January 2019 with Kathy Yan to direct the film with the screenplay by Christina Hodson. Kathy is an American and Chinese director famous for directing Groomed (2016) and Dead Pigs (2017). Kristina is an American screenwriter famous for her writing of  Unforgettable (2017) and Bumblebee(December 2018). In April 2018, DC Comics tapped her to write Batgirl movie.
Birds of Prey comic books published by DC Comics came out November 1995 titled Black Canary/Oracle:Birds of Prey written by Chuck Dixon and drawn by Jordan Gorfinkel. The original team was Black Canary and Barbara Gorden (former Batgirl)-now called Oracle. Other superheroes have joined and left. Huntress was a staple to this team.
We are now hearing that Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress, Cassandra Cain and Renee Montoya will be part of a team against Black Mask. See my earlier post about Black Mask, main villain, in Birds of Prey
This blog will talk about Harley Quinn. She doesn’t need no introduction. Harley was seen in  Suicide Squad (2016). The movie was trashed by critics, I actually enjoyed the movie. Then again, I enjoyed all comic book movies.  I just hope WB give her a better outfit/costume whatever you want to call in the Birds of Prey movie.

She  first appeared in Batman  Adventures #12 (September 1993) (see main picture above) published by DC Comics created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. Harley was a psychiatrist who fell in love with Joker while treating him.  They broke out of Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum.
Recent copies of Batman Adventures #12 CGC 9.8 sold for around $1,700. This is a book to get considering the popularity of this character. Also there are many movies planned for Harley Quinn at WB. In addition to Birds of Prey movie, there are Harley Quinn/Joker love story, Suicide Squad 2 and a solo movie. Those other movies are still in development.
