Back in November 2017 Sony Pictures gave the green lit to make Morbius, The Living Vampire a movie. They have two writers, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, involved in this movie. They are American screenwriters, best known for writing films together, like Power Rangers (2017) and Lost in Space (2018).
Sony had signed Jared Leto to play Morbius. Jared is famous for his roles in Suicide Squad (2016) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017). Jared also have three jokers movies in the works at Warner Bros. They are
Suicide Squad 2, untitled Joker/Harley Quinn love story and Gotham City Sirens.
Sony tapped Daniel Espinosa to direct Morbius movie. He is a Swedish director famous for directing Safe House (2012) and Life (2017). Production of the movie starts later this year with the release date to be determined.
Morbius first appeared in Amazing Spider-man 101 (October 1971), created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane. Morbius gained vampiric superhuman abilities after failed experiment to cure his rare disorder. He started out as an antagonist to Spider-man and now is flawed anti-hero. He starred in his own comic book titles.
In May 11, a copy of Amazing Spider-man 101 CGC 9.4 sold for $2,518. Also 9 CGC copies of Amazing Spider-man 101 flew off the shelves after the announcement on June 27. Normally one or two copies sold each day.
